I wish I could look this good at the airport. I actually wish I could be traveling more right now, but I’ll just live vicariously through my favorite best-dressed celebrities above.

 

 

Temperatures have been dropping around the world- and that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style.Take a cue from these lovely ladies and pair your favorite scarf with a few chunky knits and a cute pair of flat boots/ or converse.  I love the studded jacket & converse in picture three. Most of our posts here on TheRayandTheRo are usually just women’s fashion content and so today I decided to change sides.

To me, there is nothing than a well dressed guy, and whether he wants to go from clean prep to rough around the edges, here are some of my favorite looks and designers who know a thing or two about looking good… realll good.

Miranda Kerr has been my style crush for a while now. She really knows how to put an outfit together and makes it look so effortless. I love this whole minimal look from head to toe, and lets not even start with how incredible her legs look in those leather pants! You know what this means…. I have to go to the gym now, thanks a lot Miranda!

One of my favorite looks is the minimal edgy style. When you execute this style, you can’t help but think of Helmut Lang, Alexander Wang, Rick Owens and even Zara. When pulling off this look, every piece you get is worth the investment since each piece is highly versatile and can play a chameleon to different kinds of looks.

Sometimes clean, sleek simplicity is all you need.

Dressing, with attitude. In honor of recent literary heroine and on-screen star Lisbeth Salander (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), I wanted to put together a punk-inspired, rebellious and confident look for the spring season. While some girls chose to dress up as their favorite Sex and The City characters, I got swept up in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo frenzy and admittedly rocked motorcycle boots & a hoodie to the cinema to pay homage to my favorite star of the moment. I’ve always been a sucker for uber-strong women on screen- Kill Bill’s Beatrix Kiddo, Hillary Swank in Million Dollar Baby, and now Lisbeth Salander. Fashion’s always got time for a little punk-inspiration (F/W Balmain, Balenciaga, Gaultier, Burberry). And while the Sass & Bide top doesn’t scream “punk”, it still says I’m dressing with an attitude & I’m unexpectedly fierce.

Sometimes picking an outfit for date night or even a casual outting with friends is one of the most difficult looks. My mind process is always “should I dress up” or “should I dress down”, and I think it’s always key to find a common middle ground with that. Here is a look that I feel fits for a perfect (LA) December night. I’m also absolutely LOVING that Alice + Olivia Brielle Tutu Pullover, that is a definite must have piece for me! (Cough, great gift, cough)

Rachel (The Ray) and Roberta (The Ro) were friends first and blogging partners second. We started our blog after bonding over our love of shoes and each others distinct styles.

Rachel is a Brit who has been based in California until this year. She's currently living in London and working in the fast-growing fashion and technology space.

Roberta is living in LA where the two friends met. She's currently running her own PR company, The RO PR, representing hot up & coming designers and creatives.
